Wrightwood is a Located on the southwest side of Chicago
with borders from 75th Street north, 87th Street south,
Western Avenue east, and Kedzie Avenue west.
Wrightwood is predominately an Irish-Catholic
neighborhood, which is reflected in the areas churches, schools, and community
organizations. Its residents affectionately know the community’s main parish,
St. Thomas Moore, as “Tommy-Moore”. Growth in this community was slow in the
early part of the century, but had a boom during the post WWII era. Many of
these original residents can still be found here today.
Wrightwood is known for its
Cape Cod homes. These homes were built with an unfinished second story, which
current buyers can use to expand the home without paying for an addition. Prices
in this neighborhood are moderate, but appreciation rates are on the rise.
