West Elsdon is a community located south of Chicago’s Loop, with its borders at 51^st Street north, 60^th Street south, Pulaksi east, and Cicero west.

German and Irish immigrants were the first to settle this south side community, but the post WWII era brought in Polish and other eastern European immigrants, who built a great deal of brick housing within the community. Today the majority of the population in this growing community is Latino. This is reflected in the many small businesses and shops that line the streets of this residential community. West Elsdon is close to Midway Airport and has access to the Orange Line “L” train, which goes directly to downtown Chicago.
