Sauganash is a Jefferson Park community that is northwest of the loop that is bordered by Devon the north, Bryn Mawr to the south, Pulaski to the east, and Cicero to the west. Due to its location, Sauganash has superior access to the Kennedy Expressway (rout 90/94), making it easy for commuters to travel downtown.

The community is named for the famous Sauganash hotel built in 1831. The community has the amenities of the city, with the quieter family oriented atmosphere of the suburbs. For these reasons many urban dwellers choose Sauganash over the suburbs. The center of the community is Sauganash Park, which includes a field house with a 150-seat auditorium. The field house offers cultural and arts enrichment classes as well as sports programs for people of all ages.

Sauganash has one of the largest varieties of vintage single-family homes in Chicago. Cape Cods, bungalows, ranches, Georgians, and older frame homes are just some of the varieties that line the streets of this community.
