Ravenswood Chicago Real Estate Conditions
Ravenswood is a community northwest of Lakeview that borders Foster to the
north, Montrose to the south, Clark to the east, and Kedzie to the west. The Ravenswood
neighborhood encompasses the
communities of Ravenswood Gardens, Budlong Woods, Bowmanville, Ravenswood Manor
and parts of Lincoln Square.
Poet Carl Sandburg, who was a
resident of Ravenswood, described Chicago as the “City of Big Sholders,”once
lived on Hermitage Avenue. The community is known for its residential feel with
quiet tree-lined streets and family-oriented community. Ravenswood has a
growing commerce district along Damen Avenue near the Brown line “L” elevated
train, with many new shops and restaurants to partake in.
Ravenswood is known for its Victorian and
Prairie homes as well as its row houses, and extra wide lots. It is one of the
more affordable single-family home communities in the city.
