Portage Park is a community in northwest Chicago that borders lie at Lawrence to the north, Belmont to the south, Cicero to the east, and Narragansatt to the west. The main six-corner intersection lies at Cicero, Irving Park, and Milwaukee Avenue.

Portage Park, like much of northwest Chicago, is a predominately Polish community, with a great deal of shops and restaurants that reflect its heritage. It is a stable, family-oriented community with moderately priced housing, but with fewer hot spots than some of its neighboring communities. The growing shopping district is under renovation, with an expanding population to support new commerce. The actual park is located at Central Park Avenue and Irving Park Road. The park has an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and many other social and recreational activities for a family to share.

Bungalows and Frame style single-family homes dominate the architectural landscape in Portage Park. There are many opportunities for rehabbing and investing in this growing community.
