Morgan Park is a community located 13 miles south of Chicago’s Loop, with its borders from 107^th Street north, Blue Island south, Halsted Street east, and Western Avenue west.

The Irish American originally settled here in the early portion of the 1900’s Morgan. That rich tradition is conveyed in the community’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which is the largest one outside of Dublin, Ireland. Today much of the community is African-American, which is reflected in much of the areas commerce. Morgan Park is also home to the Beverly Arts Center, which houses the community’s vibrant performing arts scene. Much of Morgan’s historic homes have been revitalized thanks to the Beverly Area Planning Association. This association has also strengthened the area’s schools and shopping districts.
