Lawndale is a community located on the west side of Chicago, with its borders from Interstate 290 north, Pershing Road south, Western Avenue east, and Cicero west.

Lawndale is primarily a blue collar African-American community, although; in recent years the Latino population is on the rise. New shopping centers, malls, and businesses are fast growing within this community, bringing in new residents into this formerly declining population. Due to this, new housing is also fast developing within this west side neighborhood. The community is famous for its annual Farmers Market taking place from June through October. Churches and community groups have done a great deal to revitalize this community previously waning community.

Condominiums and multi-units are the most prevalent housing options within this growing community.
