Kelvyn Park is located on Chicago’s Northwest side and is named for the actual park at the center of the neighborhood. This park, is located at 4438 W. Wrightwood and features open park area, baseball, tennis courts, basketball courts, a playground and even a volleyball court, although you must bring your own net and ball. Kelvyn Park is one of the original 22 parks commissioned by the city in 1934 by the city’s northwest side.

Kelvyn Park started primarily as a Swedish community as well as many other ethnicities, but has become much more heavily influenced by the Latino community in recent years. The neighborhoods of Hermosa, Kilbourn Park and Kelvyn Park are considered solid, working-class neighborhoods with local emphasis on family and community.

Vintage multi-units, but new condos dominate the neighborhood and other construction is popping up daily.
