Hyde Park Chicago Real Estate Conditions
Hyde Park is a community located seven miles south of
Chicago’s Loop and borders lie from 51st north, 60th
south, Lake Michigan east, Michigan Avenue west.
Hyde Park is home to some of Chicago’s most significant
landmarks such as Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House, The Museum of Science and
Industry, The DuSable Museum of Afro-American History, and The University of
Chicago. Because of the University, Hyde Park is highly populated by students;
although, many families make it their home due to the community’s suburban feel.
Hyde Park is one of the city’s most racially integrated communities with
Afro-American, Hasidic, Indian, and Middle Eastern populations represented
through the many shops, boutiques, grocers, and restaurants. Famous residents
have included Senator Barak Obama, Muhammad Ali, and architect Mies van der
Rohe.
Hyde Park has recently undergone a revival with many new
construction, rehab, and condominium options. Its well-groomed tree lined
streets are home to some of the city’s most luxurious mansions, single-family
homes, and brownstones as well.
