Humboldt Park is a community west of the loop with its borders at north at North Avenue, south at Chicago Avenue, east at Western Avenue, and west at Pulaski. This neighborhood is in close proximity to both the Wicker Park and Bucktown communities, known for their hip and eclectic atmospheres.

Many city-dwellers have gravitated to this area due to the lower prices in this newly gentrified area. The community is built around the picturesque Humboldt Park, 207 acres featuring a beach, an outdoor swimming pool, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, playgrounds, bike paths, ice skating in winter, 10 picnic areas and a field house with two gyms. The area has cute shops, restaurants, and bars, including the 1930s throwback cocktail bar, The California Clipper.

The Humboldt Park neighborhood is filled with older frame and bricks houses, flats, courtyard buildings and somewhat newer brick bungalows.
