Known as one of the United States greatest epicenters for Afro-American culture, the south side community of Bronzeville resides with 35^th to the north, Pershing to the south, Cottage Grove to the east, and Halsted to the West.

Second only to New York’s Harlem, Bronzeville is culturally vibrant Afro-American community with many galleries, historical centers, and jazz clubs to its credit. Some of Bronzeville’s most famous residents include boxer Joe Jackson, and Jazz musicians Jellie Roll Morten, and Johnny Dodds. In recent years Martin Luther King Drive has become home to some of Chicago’s most grandiose Afro-American monuments and cultural centers.

Due to the revival of the Bronzeville community, new construction and luxury condominiums have become more prevalent in the neighborhood landscape. Vintage Victorian homes and brownstones also line the streets of this culturally vibrant area.
