Ashburn Chicago Real Estate Conditions
Ashburn Gresham is a community nine miles south west of
the loop and is bordered by 67th north, 87th south, State
Street east, and Cicero west.
Ashburn Gresham residential and family friendly
community with a great blue-collar tradition brought in by the community’s many
railroads. The railroads brought in a vast amount of Irish immigrants and much
of the Celtic tradition is still present today. Accessibility to transportation and
highways has made Ashburn a new hot
spot for both homebuyers and developers.
The population of Ashburn Gresham has grown by leaps in
bounds in the past ten years, so new construction and development has begun to
take over the landscape. Vintage homes, such as bungalow, 2 and 3 flats, and
apartments, still line the streets of this very residential
community.
Ashburn was predominately
Irish-Catholic but has diversified greatly in recent years. Many stoic churches
make up the landscape of this industrial community. The neighborhood’s
population boomed during the post WWII era, and many of those people who moved
in still reside there today. Ashburn is primarily known for its proximity to
Midway Airport and easy access to expressways.
Vintage 1950’s bungalows and ranches are the primary
architectural style, but new construction continues to show growth due to the
short distance to Midway Airport.
